horizontal bar

A horizontal bar designed for a person to lift or suspend themselves for various athletic or gymnastic exercises.

It may be a single metal bar, or part of a unit where several bars are side-by-side.

This includes pull-up or chin-up bars, present in fitness gyms, school gyms, and some playgrounds, and bars used for gymnastics or high jumps.
