Jason Thomas Nichols is a man who went viral on Twitter after Ring camera footage of an altercation involving him was posted by news account Breaking911, known as the doorbell chud. In the footage, Nichols is seen asking for the homeowner’s daughter before screaming, threatening him, and violently banging on the door after destroying a porch bell. While the viral footage only shows him outside of the house through the doorbell camera, additional security footage showed that he was successfully able to break into the house and even confront the resident before being apprehended by police.

The video became a hotbed of memes and edits due to Nichols’ uncanny resemblance to Chudjak. His outfit (consisting of a long black coat and a Kimetsu no Yaiba t-shirt), and bizarre threats that included referring to himself as Harry Dresden from The Dresden Files made the entire situation so absurd that many weren’t even sure it was real until the Fairfield Police Department publicized his identity and charges for the incident.
