jaw drop

The classic cartoon trope of someone being so shocked that they open their mouth wide enough for their jaw to hit the metaphorical floor (and in extreme cases, the actual floor). Generally applicable to any post where the bottom of a character's mouth has sunk below, or seems to disappear into, their chin line.
