A plot NPC in Elona, Loyter is a general of Zanan, however, in the game, he is most known as the "bane of bards".

Playing music in Elona is based upon a comparison of your skill check to the level of the nearby NPCs. High-level NPCs take high skill to please, and if they are displeased by your performance, they will throw rocks at you to stop you. Loyter is infamous for being very high level, sticking around the starting town, and having enough strength to kill a level 1 player with his first rock. Beyond that, he frequently splatters the NPC bard that starts in the bar he frequents while off-screen from the player, meaning even if the player isn't killed, you always see a bard getting murdered by Loyter.

To make things worse, he's a frequent guest at Party Time! events, where the player must succeed in pleasing multiple guests with music, and is again very high-leveled to the point where winning these quests often involves finding ways to hide from Loyter or die.

Loyter has red hair, as would be expected of the name, green eyes, as well as a red cloak and armor.
