mandarin collar

A short, unfolded, stand up–style high collar on a Chinese shirt, jacket, or dress.

The collar derives its name from the Mandarin-speaking bureaucrats in Qing-era China that employed it as part of their uniform. Changpao, tangzhuang, and qipaos often feature a mandarin collar.
