maritozzo
A cream-filled sweet bun that is a traditional dessert from the Lazio region of Italy, which includes Rome. It has been booming in Japan since around 2020.
Not to be confused with cream puff. Compared to cream puff, a maritozzo has its cream filling exposed and smoothened, and its buns has a smooth surface.
