massachusetts (kancolle)

Massachusetts(艦隊これくしょん) マサチューセッツ(艦隊これくしょん) Massachusetts(艦これ) マサチューセッツ(艦これ) Massachusetts マサチューセッツ

Kantai Collection's personification of the US Navy battleship USS Massachusetts (BB-59). Character design by Zeco.

She has long blonde hair with a red streak, red eyes, and large breasts. Her default outfit consists of a blue jacket worn off shoulder, a sleeveless white shirt exposing her midriff, black necktie, black short shorts, and grey rudder footwear.

Her rigging is the same as South Dakota's, sporting her three historical 406 mm triple gun mounts and ten 12.7 cm twin DP gun mounts on a hull that is painted in Measure 22, her real-life camouflage scheme in the Naval Battle of Casablanca. She also carries her real-life mainmast with SG and SC-1 radars on top as a staff.

In real life, Massachusetts was the only one of the class to have initially seen frontline service in the Atlantic/Mediterranean theaters, bombarding Casablanca in November 1942 (the setting of the 2022 Summer event, including her gunnery exchange with Jean Bart, in anchor at that time). She was transferred to the Pacific in early 1943 to replace her sister South Dakota (then headed stateside for repairs), seeing action escorting the carrier forces. She was decommissioned in 1947, but it took until 1965 for her to become a museum ship.
