mc.205 veltro

The Macchi MC.205 Veltro ("Greyhound") was a further development of the MC.202 Folgore, with upgraded armament and a more powerful DB.605 engine in place of the earlier airplane's DB.601. The visual differences between the MC.202 and MC.205 are subtle, and these include a tail of increased area, a larger, more streamlined canopy hump and rear fuselage, and a slightly longer radio mast. Armament was increased in the definitive version to 4 12.7x88mm Breda-SAFAT machine guns in the nose and 2 MG 151 20mm cannon in the wings.
