A canceled, long-awaited sequel to Mega Man Legends 2 for the Nintendo 3DS. Little is known about the plot or setting of the game beyond its two main characters, Barrett and Aero.

During development, certain aspects of the game, such as the design for Aero, were made and chosen by fans via a now defunct Mega Man Legends 3 official website, resulting in Aero specifically having a wide variety of designs.

Although the idea of a development team working so closely with fans seem unique, Capcom was already known for making contests specifically for Mega Man character designs.
