mochitsuki
The traditional Japanese ceremony where mochi is pounded using a mallet called a kine and a special mortar called an usu.
The process involves two people, one pounding the mochi and the other quickly sticking their hand in to turn the mochi. They must be careful or the person turning the mochi may be hit by the mallet.
