Ojigi (standing)
ojigi (bowing)
The classic Japanese bow. The deeper the bow, the more respect is shown to the recipient.
Performed by bending over at the waist while keeping the back straight and the head perpendicular to the torso, with the hands together in front or left with the arms at the sides.
When done while sitting in seiza, it's called zarei instead.
