An outdoor swing that is composed of a bench or bench-like seat that is suspended above the ground using ropes, chains, or metal bars. This allows the seat to be able to be rocked back and forth.

These pieces of furniture may be suspended using a temporary support structure, a permanent support structure, or may be fastened to the ceiling of a porch.
