payphone
A public telephone, with payment by inserting money (usually coins). Often seen furnished inside phone booths and seen alongside phone books. Traditional Japanese payphones are fat and green (e.g. post #3832440) and often include a card reader in addition to a typical coin slot. Don't use this tag where a phone booth is visible, but the payphone inside is not. Do use it instead of phone booth for free-standing or wall-mounted payphones without any sort of enclosure.
