philopon
Also known as hiropon or shabu. The brand-name methamphetamine sold by Dainippon Pharmaceuticals for civilian and military use. (At the time, the side effects of methamphetamine were not well studied.)
After World War II a large military stockpile of Philopon flooded the market. The Japanese government banned it in 1951.
This tag is usually used for east-asian methamphetamine in the war years and the immediate postwar years.
