reaction to bad writing
Art made in response (or even spite) to perceived bad writing found in another series, especially concerning its ending. Also known as "slander" on Twitter/X.
In media terms, series who have terrible arcs are often said to have "jumped the shark", referring to a moment from Happy Days that critics held up as an emblematic example of TV shows going on for too long, running out of good ideas, and resorting to character Flanderization or random fan-service in order to justify their continued production only to take it too far and inevitably reach a point of eliciting audience incredulity or disdain.
