silk ball
A ball covered in bright red silk and traditionally filled with beans or grain. Associated with Chinese wedding, it’s a traditional Chinese symbol of love, romance, and good fortune. Historically, it served as a matchmaking token, where women threw hand-embroidered silk balls to chosen suitors, and it was used to decorate the bridal sedan chair.
