Originally serialized in Weekly Shounen Jump from 1989 to 1992 for 152 chapters and collected into sixteen volumes, it was later adapted into an OVA series, between 1993 and 2002, and the 48-episode second season of the TV anime, which aired from 2014 to 2015.
This story arc marked the first appearance of stands, which would become a staple in the JoJo universe.
