talons
The sharp, hooked claws at the end of the toes of dromeosaurids and some predatory avians. Raptors have one talon on every toe with thumb talons being particularly big and shaped like sickles. Birds have one talon on every toe, and they may differ in overall shape, curvature and thickness.
Doves don't have a use for talons as they do not hunt to feed themselves; doves have claws, but no talons.
Harpies are commonly depicted with them.
