the yellow wallpaper
An 1892 short story by American writer Charlotte Perkins Gilman. It is told as the journal entries of a woman suffering from postpartum depression who is confined to an upstairs nursery room by her husband. She becomes increasingly obsessed with the yellow wallpaper in the room.
