"Legend of Combat Arena Gods"

The first 3D fighting game for the Playstation 1, released in 1995. Toushinden is a primitive version of Soulcalibur, utilizing weapons combat in a 3D field, but with the addition of Street Fighter-like special attacks that each character can use. The sidestep was also introduced in Toushinden, which Soulcalibur goes on to use.

Except for War Budokai, the character designer and artist for all of the games is Kotobuki Tsukasa.
