An organic chemical substance, a type of lipid that is flexible and easy to form at room temperature, has a melting point of 45°C or higher, cannot dissolve in water, and is hydrophobic and repels water.
Waxes such as paraffin and beeswax, and hard fats such as tallow are used for lighting and decorative candles.
