yoshi egg

A polka-dotted colored egg from the Mario series. They usually hatch Baby Yoshis and Yoshis but can also store power-ups.

In some games like Super Smash Bros. and Mario Power Tennis, Yoshis are sometimes shown to have the ability to enter and shield themselves within an egg at will. Since Yoshi's Island, enemies gobbled up by a Yoshi will turn into eggs which can be used as a projectile.
