This is an actual weapon in Dead Space 2. It kills most enemies in one hit, and Isaac yells "PEWPEW!" or "BANG!" each time he fires it.

To unlock it, you need to beat hardcore, wherein you can only save three times.

Unless they patched it since I beat it, not only do you only get to save three times, you have to do it all in one sitting. Also each of those three counts as your checkpoints.
