As always, blame it on her Chozo and/or Metroid genemods and/or excess DNA she picked up while getting those DNA-based powers from the X in Fusion.
Honestly, it'd be surprising if her anatomy matched the standard human phenotype at all at this point.

There's a huge difference between alien physiology and the artist just having no idea how to draw people. None of this was done intentionally, the artist is just plain bad. It's not more complicated than that.

Either way, you defended a picture where Samus' legs and hips are connected horizontally to her body, and her left flank is more than twice as long as her right. No matter of crazy, far-out scifi technobabble can make that work.
