Her captain during that time was CO. Takahashi Setsuo (Nagato's 3rd Captain), Captain Takahashi was promoted into Rear Admiral position and becomes the commander of the Sasebo Defense Corp, he retired on service afterwards and returned to Shimane Prefecture, his hometown. He pass away on April 1, 1971 at the age of 93 years old.

This is my source, oh and I could hardly read Japanese so correct me if ever I made some mistakes.
