This reminds me about me when I first saw this franchise, and did confuse some characters thinking that they were humans too (such as Hina, Alice, Yuuka, and many more... it’s difficult for me to know which species or type of thing a girl in this franchise really is, right?)

As you spend more time in the fandom and are exposed to more and more fan art and doujins, you'll be able to remember almost instantly.

^ Yup. Over ten years ago, when I first learned about Touhou, it took me time to learn the cast herd that was around even then. As you dive in though, you pick it up, and eventually knowing who's who and who's what becomes second nature.
