No, it makes perfect sense. Akatsuki is trying to save face by lying to Inazuma by saying that there is no point in reading the book to her since she wouldn't understand it. Despite the fact tht it would be Akatsuki reading it. But they are dumb kids at this point, so Inazuma believes her.
