Just to set the record straight, I have consulted Wikipedia for both tank top and crop top, and found that each term can apply here. However, one does not necessarily mean the same as the other.
Crop top, the tag I like to apply, specifically refers to a T-shirt or blouse that cuts off early at the bottom, in such a manner as to expose the midriff (ah, the other term I love to apply).
