That was such a cute way of showing how Hibiki got Ushio's mounts.
Although the entire presentation is, well not really surprising at this point.

I read a comic of Otoufu about Akebono being angry because Ushio was gaving her gun to Hibiki. I thought he had no intention about historical fact, just random daily cute comic.

Now I see he had a point

Boob Missiles make me laugh every time.

For the first panel, what y.ssanoha's not mentioning is that Ushio fired back upon the (surfaced) USS Bergall and hit it, forcing its own humiliating desperate limp back home. (Myoukou, for the record, had actually lost her stern, and only had one functioning propeller that somehow still stayed intact in spite of losing the part of the hull it was supposed to be attached to.)

Ushio also didn't just straight abandon Myoukou, either. She tried towing Myoukou for a while, but Ushio was too heavily damaged, and the weather too bad for her to be effective. Even so, Ushio only left Myoukou behind after three other destroyers had come to help drag Myoukou to safety. Even then, bad weather made that fail, so Myoukou had to basically doggy paddle to port with amputated legs. Once she got there, she, too, was told there was nothing left to fix her with, so she got to stay crippled in port until the war ended, and she was scrapped.

But hey, while there, she had Kamikaze and the slowly sinking (didn't even bother to stop the flooding) Takao to keep her company. (Isn't this really wonderful source material for comedy?!)

Not just that, while in port, both Myoukou and Takao got targetted by British divers since the allies didn't know that they were non operational. Takao got mined and they blew another hole through the hull, Myoukou escaped since they couldn't find her.
