Complaining about the site's development won't help you to get this post approved.
You should rather argue with reasons why it should stay by today's standards and not with standards from over 7 years ago. This would also help if you want to be taken more serious when appealing post.

Amazing how the flagger couldn't even be bothered to see that the artist already has many approved arts in the site...wow!

It's more like, 7 years ago western art was instantly removed from the site.

Today, it's not a "be all end all" rule anymore and the situation and specific post are much more important.
With so many people around the world drawing in anime style AND contributing to anime and manga as artists, while many japanese artists draw in typically western styles.

If it's about art style, this artist could pass for a modern eastern style very easily.
Also, despite the crude lines, saying this is in poor quality?
Either we need to delete 70% of danbooru or, we have a very different interpretation of quality digital art.

Sorry for being so angry, that part really got to me.

Well, I kind of agree. And I think we need a purge to get rid of low quality images *NO* matter where they are from. I have seen some low quality stuff from eastern and western artists alike here that have no rights to be here due to the overwhelmingly low quality.

Though I think the main issue there would be that some of the flaggers here are a bit... too enthusiastic in removing images that they don't like personally. And doing such a purge now would risk losing fair amount of decent work without there being a good basis for their removal. :/
