Left: Bea/Saitou is the Fighting-type GL Right: Melony/Meron is the Ice-type GL.

Technically they aren't exactly counterparts as Bea is the 4th GL whilst Melony is the 6th, both being replaced by a dude for their respective gym with Allister (Ghost) in place of Bea in Shield and Gordie (Rock) in place of Melony in Sword

I mean I'm not going to shit on anyone that likes Melony, but this is the easiest fucking choice I've ever had to make.

I had gotten shield, but the moment I realized the gym leaders where also version exclusive I traded it back in for Sword. No way in hell would I take some old hag with useless blobs of fat where her breasts are supposed to be over the young and athletic Beauty that is Saitou.
