The main reason Yostar can pull things like this is that they released Azur Lane initially for Japanese market and they have 2 headquarters, in Shanghai and Japan. Most of the lewder artworks are commisioned from the Japanese side headquarter, so CCP can't inspect nor censor those artwork before they got implemented in-game, unlike if those are commisioned from the Shanghai branch, of which CCP can and will intervene.

Wow you're wrong in everything. 1) CN release regularly has stuff censored. 2) The game is made by Manjuu, Yostar only publishes. Manjuu is a chinese company. 3) AL's first version was chinese.

Honkai's first issue was that they released it for Global, so you'd have an insane group of players envious of what they didn't get. The second issue was that a different insane group of players got salty because muh purity, something nobody in AL would ever think about because the horny is constant.
Yostar is a publisher so china law does not affect them outside , they can release English version completely different from CN if they like . Mihoyo on the other hand is a game studio in main land without any over sea HQ and asset so they under china rule 100%, i wish they find a global publisher

The second issue was that a different insane group of players got salty because muh purity, something nobody in AL would ever think about because the horny is constant.
AFAIR manjuu is shanghai based which ISN'T under full control of CCP (at least for now) publisher for CHN is Bilibili and for JP and EN is (surprise?) yostar SHANGHAI TLDR; both manjuu and yostar lean more to western players.
