My headcanon as well. Something along the likes of XZ chromosome. I also like to imagine an umaverse where everything is explainable in science terms to some degrees (and a dash of retcons).

If you ask the 3Gs why the umaverse is what it is, from their perspective it's a science but science on a level that even the theoretical particle uma can't even begin to imagine. Just like how Golshi sees the things she does.
