Check character because Aya has an identical twin sister who was always sick and in the hospital. They're supposed to be distinguishable by their hairstyles (one has a side ponytail), but there are also some twin-switching shenanigans going on (which is actually part of the reason she died) and the dialogue associated with this scene makes it even more confusing. Is she reaching out to her sister after turning into a Doll, or is this symbolic of her own life being ripped away?
