#1: Red shoes and hood, that's literally Yuji's custom made uniform, Megumi's is not red.
#2: It has Yuji's scar he received from Mahito

It does make sense. There was a pair of characters from the 2003 Teen Titans series (Gnarrk and Kole) who did the same thing. In settings with super strong and nearly indestructible characters, this option really should be explored more often.
