In the Japanese version of the game she is supposed to be futa, but not in any western releases. They don't really show whats under the panties in either version.

In the western release they don't plain-out say she's a futa, but when you dive into her backstory in playthrough 2 there's a specific line that's said. "What are you dressing like a girl for? Everyone knows what you are!" which pretty much admits she's a hermaphrodite.

No one is born 'transsexual'. You need surgery to be that :D

Intersexed or Hermaphrodite, yes. Futa, no. In the generation of Google and Wikipedia one would figure people would do more searching for accurate terms rather than coloring things in fetishism. Too much to ask though.

"Hermaphrodite" is an outdated term when used in the context of human biology. No IRL human has both male and female sets of fully-functional genitalia.

"Intersex" is correct, and covers a broad range of degrees of overlap between male and female.

Although, it's pretty obvious that they did make Kaine intersex to play upon the prevalent gender-ambiguity fetishes.
