Just noticed Kikuri is part of Mima's luggage :P

So, to be short, Mima was living in Makai, then she moved to the human overworld, and then she found Marisa, and she decided to live in a abandoned castle/mansion? Well, Makai seems to be toxic in this manga, so it should make sense.

Or maybe I'm just overthinking it, like usual.

Well, most of the residents of Makai are supernatural so I guess either Shinki forgot to create air or the mana in the surroundings might do... interesting things to baby Marisa if she wasn't protected.

actually the entire Makai is covered in Miasma that is dangerious to normal humans but it makes use and learning of magic easier in there
