Surely you could alter the length of the ropes/chains to her wrists and the height of the crotch rope to keep her on her toes. That way, even a small movement of the crane would unbalance her and mean she'd have to move, rather than the crane fighting against her weight the whole time.

She'd get punished without the whip as she loses her balance and then falls across several beads in succession.
