Speaking of Remilia, the way the lower half of her body is positioned is just... off. Especially the way that left leg of hers is drawn.

Even if the artist is taking the idea of a PHOTO, how does that make him a copycat? you saying this is the first time you see an image inspired into something you saw before IRL or in a photo?

I think it’s quite likely that this image’s artist is not the one who took the photo. Many artists use reference photos that they took themselves, had other people take for them or licensed from someone. Using a photo that you grabbed off the internet is a different story.

What? Since when was it bad form to find images with poses on the internet and then drawing them? I know a lot of artists who also have poses and various reference images just collected from the mighty oracle of Google.

its a matter of opinion

Even artist themselves will get into this argument over using reference photos.
wither it be a full copy or just reference poses and angles
some are for it and are alright with it, others are against it and will chastise others they 'catch' doing it

But then there is a line of it being just plain plagiarism
