IMO, not a case of polydactyly but just an awkwardly drawn thumb. If a side-angle thumbnail had been present it'd be less ambiguous.

Oh man that might be it. I thought the bit of flesh poking out on the left of the hand might be the thumb and that there was just one too many ring fingers.
