Sparrow and chicken only share the Aves class (birds). It's on the same level of how we are related to cows (both mammals). And some predator birds eat other birds too.

This could be a more specific moral point, like how (most) people are against the consumption of cats and dogs.

Yeah, I always found that weird about how Mystia and Aya disliked eating chicken-everything that eats meat able to kill one eats chicken, even other birds. So no one cares about the chickens, not even other birds(except yokai birds).

Its like she's eating family, but being a bird she probably wouldn't care anyway... this artist has a few fail idears.

Mystia does care about birds being eaten. The reason she set up a lamprey grill shop in the first place was to get humans to stop eating birds.

If you feed birds in the park chicken, most will eat it. Sparrows, pigeons and seagulls aren't that picky.
