And she's going to end up with that arm for the rest of her life. That's a suitable payoff for the ending imo. It would've been better if the rest of the story wasn't so "uuugh."

Not entirely. even him wielding Calibur meant that he could still feel the Edge's influence. But it's because of Calibur's influence that Sigfried wasn't as infected as Raphael, Aeon, and Tira turned out to be. Oh yeah, tell that to Tira too. She loves her immortality.

It doesn't help the fact that Aeon's mind corroded into animal instincts. So yeah, whether you've turned into a monster, become immortal, or have a corrupted arm, The Seed leaves its mark.

She's not going to have that arm for the rest of her life it goes away after a while, maybe not entirely but the physical appearance goes away after a while.
