I guess it is pretty hard to convey a feeling of uneasiness and danger without also eliciting some feeling of curiosity. Especially when you’re looking at something clearly manmade and very unique to its surroundings.

Indeed, ultimately perhaps the best way to handle such hazardous material is to put it in as uninteresting of a place as possible.

Even that probably wouldn’t work because people love exploring uninteresting things too. Mountains and cliffs are basically just big rocks and people love climbing those, people will just hike for hours at a time for fun through whatever is around and millions of people watched Solo Leveling so clearly people love boring things as well.
