Stepping down as admin

Posted under General

I seldom see any of the regulars from back when I joined (Hazuki, Granola, Fencedude, sgcdonmai, the list goes one), and with you stepping down it feels like the end of an era. You are a scholar and a gentleman, and it has been an honor to collaborate with you.

I was drawn to this site over the other boorus not just because of its rich content and descriptive organization of great art, but also because of the community of largely mature, intellectual, and friendly people that frequent it. It has motivated me to contribute some my free time by giving back through the few submissions I have placed. Though I may have never personally communicated with you, I very much appreciate and thank you for all your effort and level-headed leadership over the years that helped shaped Danbooru into what it is today. Best wishes for your future.

End of an era. Many props to jxh2154 for going as long as he did. I think anyone else would have stepped down ages ago.

I will probably begin some policy changes to make the deluge of administrative tasks a bit more manageable for me. I will either make it harder to submit new tag changes (with the goal being to make search easier, not necessarily to organize information), or automatically approve small scale changes. I think people don't want to take full responsibility for approvals so maybe splitting that will help.

For now I request that everyone submit new aliases and implications and bulk requests via the site features rather than creating separate forum topics as it's easier for me to manage that way.

Thanks for all the years you put into this site jxh. You were always willing to step in when I had questions or concerns and helped tremendously with input and keeping back and forward communication. I definitely am not the only one who owes a lot to you, so I'm glad you were able to help out.

Don't worry about the site, its good to be able to enjoy being part of the community without all of the responsibility sometimes and you are really an awesome guy.

Thanks again for all the help and feedback you gave.

Nothing will be the same without you, it's a shame to see you go.

I'm going to suggest you make a thread about this discussing who has access to do what now and after so we can try to figure out a way to handle it in a way that benefits both sides.

As one of the people you made a contributor, there's little I can say that hasn't been said already, but I can try.

At first I wasn't sure if I was worthy, but you insisted; today I'm still not sure I'm worthy, but with your insistence in mind I try my hardest.

You won't be forgotten.

Damn, well this was sudden... I understand you aren't leaving but still... Thank you for all your help since the beginning of my time here on Danbooru. Truly, you are one of those kind, helpful voices that made the experience better for us all.
