I couldn't find any past discussions about this and I don't see why this wouldn't work. I often find myself forgetting to tag belt because none of the colour tags nor the belt buckle tag implies it, I only took the tags that had a count over 100 (or close to).

I reaaaaalllly wanted to not have to use (color)_belt tags but... they just happened.

Honestly, I find those to be rather pointless since the only time coloured belts have a significance is when it comes to martial arts.

You don't really have to use these tags. Most <color>_<accessory> tags aren't all that necessary.

I don't feel too strongly about keeping these tags, if the general consensus is that they are unneeded I can agree with nuking them. The same should be done to most other colour_accessory tags then however.

Well for myself at least, I'm for keeping them. I don't really have a strong reason though.

As almost always, I'm against destroying information unless there is a technical need to do so, -1 for nuking from me. Obviously these sorts of tags shouldn't be a requirement, but let the people that want to use them use them, so long as they are used appropriately and consistently.

Since it might be a while until we decide if these tags should still be kept, we should probably approve the implications, to at least have that consistency.
