these are not e.g.o or identities, but rather different outfits she wears as a part of the story the first two names stem from "role" tags paired with ishmael during those story segments, as can be seen here: https://limbuscompany.wiki.gg/wiki/Into_the_Dark/Floor_3#Mid-Battle_2 the last one is named after the identity archive, a mechanic that allows the player to listen to an identity's voicelines and read its story. the main menu of that mechanic features portraits of all 12 playable sinners, and most of them wear unique costumes there
Since they're all sub-100 tags, would it be a terrible idea to merge them into an ishmael_(past) tag?
Given how many identity artworks are out there, would it make sense to make an LCB outfit tag? I think it would be especially useful for what-ifs (like post #8642256)
late message, but +1 to this. it's been on my mind for a while, it's great for OCs, parodies, and the example above
the more i think about it, the less i like our current approach to tagging limbus uniforms, namely that technicalities of what "identity" means forbid us from using what are basically uniform tags (not that different from school uniforms in series focusing on students) on characters that wear said uniforms in the "main" timeline, yet allow random non-canon cosplays... i dread what might happen to our tagging if we ever get to see the sinners borrowing or stealing uniforms from a faction for infiltration (without using the identity system) in canon
nevertheless... someone already made the tag for cinq east, so it should be standardized. technically the unit's name is "Cinq East Section 3 Don Quixote", skipping the word "association", but it appears our standard has been to use the word association there
Changed it to cinq east for now. Better to follow the official name, and we don't want to make these tag names even longer without a reason.
is that so? in that case, zwei needs to be shortened as well
i am still of the opinion association identity tags should be converted to uniform tags so that NPCs and pre/non-limbus characters can be tagged with them accurately, but if this is what we should be doing from now-onwards, then so be it
the image above displays all currently known zwei characters that i am aware of, with the branch and section specified. no clear pattern in designs emerges from sections, meaning they can be safely ignored (for now, at least). sinclair, rodion, faust, heathcliff and ishmael are identities (gacha alts), while julia, isadora, welter, unnamed character and paula are NPCs/enemies
alternatively, turning association identity tags into appropriate uniform tags. other groups that follow a standardized dresscode should follow suit, associations are simply the easiest to start with
favgroup #42147 deals with posts that feature only the civilian disguises of zwei south identities, which, naturally, do not feature the uniform
there currently are 12 associations in-universe, each corresponding to a number in a specific language. the BUR follows that order. notes:
we currently know two versions of the hana (1) uniform, southern (that olivier, mirinae and harold wear, and northern, worn by han-ul (there are currently no identities from this association). however, the northern variant currently has no appropriate images on danbooru, so it is ignored
zwei (2) is somewhat troublesome due to pre-uptie identities having separate civilian outfits
we have never seen tres (3) association
shi (4) is somewhat strange, as the limbus shi identities have rather different outfits than ruina's shi members, despite both representing southern branches. it could be due to a gap in sections, as limbus has section 5, while ruina has section 2. moreover, despite zwei also featuring multiple sections within one branch, such discrepancies were not observed. i have tentatively put both together under one tag
cinq (5) was still pending the split between south and west
we have yet to see eight (8)'s uniform properly. supposedly pequod captainishmael wears its uniform based on her hat featuring the number, though not much is certain
devyat' (9) was missing an apostrophe
dieci (10) seems to have further division into keys and fists, though so far, the only difference appears to be the choice of weapon and glove color
we have never seen whatever association is associated with number 12
i will have to add updates for liu (6) and seven (7) at a later date to add their ruina characters
this should not be necessary for devyat' (9), dieci (10) or oufi (11), as they were first seen in limbus company
I don't know. I don't disagree, but also... I dislike this for a variety of reasons. It breaks down when you get to factions with less standardized outfits (refer to thetwo molar office tags. You can't lump them into olga_(project_moon)_(cosplay) either, because they are different outfits. And they would flood the original character tag...) I feel like it just replaces an issue with a different issue.
this change would not affect every single identity in the game. specifically tags for ones that can reasonably be considered to have a proper uniform or dress code. associations definitely have standardized uniforms, offices - not always
