Making Reflected Worlds a tag

Posted under Tags

Oh right! I forgot about your own personal attempt at this. I was pretty tapped out at the time, so I never could voice my opinion on it properly. But not anymore, so here's my quick rundown:

In regards to the split theme issue...I'm tempted to argue this should imply split theme, due to the main gimmick being two connected scenarios juxtaposed against each other in such a way that they appear as separate worlds, in such a way split theme applies, but considering you mentioned having a bone to pick with split theme, that'd require more deliberation.

In any case, different reflection does not usually apply to a lot of these posts, and also the vibe is completely different from the average different reflection post, that we can safely cork that worry from the last thread, I think.

My gripes with split theme is probably a minority one, since I personally it should be used for depictions of subjects that are actually, well, split. I personally don't think before and after, different reflection, or symmetry alone should qualify for the way I interpret the tag in my head.

With that in mind, my thoughts on the posts under pool:3209 split_theme are that I wouldn't consider post #2909062 or post #1587372 reflected worlds, just split theme; post #7211219 and post #8555625 are both reflected worlds but I wouldn't consider either a split theme, post #873844 qualifies for both; and then post #7295933 is maybe split theme but definitely not reflected worlds. That's just my opinion though. I don't know if the tags have changed since I made that BUR months ago which may affect my current take on the situation. (also, unrelated but imo post #5104236 is probably just different reflection. I don't think it should be in this pool/tag.)

Fair enough honestly. I once was tempted to try aliasing clothes only to clothes focus...Only to realize that'd be a terribly misleading name and begrugingly leaving it alone.

Edit: Apparently clothes focus is now a tag??? That one wasn't me, I'll make a BUR to deal with that...

If there's any argument against reflected worlds being a branch of split theme, then chances are good that's just flat out not a good implication to have. As it stands, it seems we'd need to remove any that aren't actually reflected worlds as defined by the pool before (ideally) this BUR goes through. To me, neither post #2909062 or post #1587372 are reflected worlds at all and should go, same with post #5104236 (as I don't see anything about it that's different from the typical different reflection post). I have no idea what to do with post #7295933, as while I was the uploader, I did not add it to the pool. I added split theme at the time, but Idk if that's the most appropriate tag for the scenario, but I'd personally not call it reflected worlds either, especially compared to something like post #409186.
