On tag wiki pages there is a "tag preview", which shows the 8 latest members of a tag, and filters out the deleted images.
It shouldn't filter out the deleted images when the "Show deleted posts" option is enabled at least.
Other previews work the same way, someone's latest 6 uploads, and latest 6 favorites show deleted pictures too.
It is annoying, and confusing, especially when it shows no pictures at all, while there are pictures of something/someone.
My recommendation would be to use a different picture that isn't deleted unless the deleted picture in question absolutely needs to be the example of the wiki for lack of anything better to use, including an asset instead of a post. Not to offer a commentary on whether deleted posts should show up or not - I have no worthwhile opinion to share about that.

He's talking about the 8 recent posts under the tag that shows up at the bottom, not embedded images.
