HELP: Duplicate of deleted post

Posted under General

Recently I have decided to try and upload art that I like from artists I like, and on my 5th post is where I ran into an issue, it said deleted due to being a duplicate of another post, and sure enough that is true. However the original posters image was never approved due to being deleted after 3 days of no approval, so I wasn't able to see that it was posted in the past. I want to upload this image to see if it can be approved to share with all of you, however when I use the source version of the uploading process it flags it as a duplicate and I don't know if I should try and upload with no source or if there's away around this duplicate post or approving the OG post. The original image ID is 10251139

If there is a duplicate warning and your post is not better (less artifacts, larger resolution, revision) then there is no need to upload it. Deleted posts are still visible with toggle or by turning them on in settings so having a redundant image is unnecessary, if you think the image is good you can try appealing it to get it undeleted.

FYI you can enable viewing deleted posts by appending status:any to your search, or in your account settings under the "Advanced" tab.

Keep in mind that the duplicate warning on the upload page isn't perfect, and it just shows up when images appear to look similar. It is valid to upload these when it's a false positive (such as a visual difference) or a higher quality version (higher resolution, less artifacting, uncensored, etc., see help:post relationships).

However you should never upload posts without a source. The image can't just have materialized on your PC so you should link where you got it from. This also goes for your post #11291754, so please fill in the source there too.
