Artist tagging help

Posted under General

Hi there. I would like to know if there is a way to find if there is an existing tag for this artist?

I used the search function on Artist section by checking URL and name but can't find any artist tag on the result but just want to be careful to avoid duplicate artist issue.

https://www.facebook.com/Booboa.bo

The art I intent to post is this one but I would need to identify the artist tag first.

Found a cool artist but his name is challenging and its got me wondering if my naming choice is correct
artist #640804

tl;dr, the guys name is in Pixiv is "ㄹ", a Korean character named Rieul that's something like an R at the beginning of a word and L at the end. At least according to Google. There's another artist already called Rieul so, I skipped that, and Mr. ㄹ didn't stylize his name as a 2 either which seems to happen, so I opted for R_(rieul).

Is this alright?

Twitter display name is 리터: Riteo, doesn't seem to be ambiguous with other tags so you can just use that as the name.

I dont know how to translate stuff.

I really tried but i've given up

It's for post ID:11441360

I made the artist tag. Whenever you post art from a new-to-Danbooru artist, you should always make an artist tag. In the source tab when you upload, if the artist is new to danbooru there will be a create new artist option. Follow the link there to create the artist. When you upload art from places like Pixiv and Twitter, the site will automatically give you a name to use for the artist (for pixiv, it's the artist's stacc name). Even if that name is less desirable than a Romanized version of the artist's main name, it's still much better than no artist tag at all.

Thanks! I didnt even know about that source tab untill now. I mostly use pixiv so that will help a lot.

Someone already corrected the artist I asked about earlier, so thank you for that.

I have another question, now about artist #643412 whom I added. I named them Uturoi, since that's the first part of their twitter handle and Utsuro/Uturo both are unavailable. I think this is probably the way to go about it, but I'd like someone with more experience to check in and/or give me some feedback on it.
